How to use Audio Channel Splitter

  1. Open a stereo recording with exactly two channels, up to 100 MB and 15 minutes.
  2. Extract the channels. The result includes left, right and an averaged mono version.
  3. Listen to each preview and download the output you need.

When this helps

Separate two microphones recorded to opposite stereo channels or recover a recording where useful audio is on only one side. The mono option averages left and right with equal weight.

What to know before you start

This does not isolate instruments or remove vocals. Mono input and surround input are rejected. Files export at the browser’s decoded sample rate. Opposite-phase signals may cancel in the averaged mono result.

Frequently asked questions

Can it separate two speakers?

Only if they were recorded into different left and right channels. It cannot separate voices already mixed together.

Why is the mono result quieter or silent?

Opposite-phase left and right signals can cancel when averaged. Use an individual channel if it contains the recording you need.

Will the original file be uploaded?

No. Audio decoding and WAV creation happen on this device. Site analytics are separate from file processing.
