Chapter Timestamp Generator

Turn your timestamped notes into a clear chapter list for a video description or podcast workflow.

Loading the tool… JavaScript is required for local processing.

How to use Chapter Timestamp Generator

  1. Write one timestamp and title per line, in chronological order. Use MM:SS or HH:MM:SS.
  2. Enter the media duration to check the final chapter. Keep YouTube timing checks enabled for a video description.
  3. Generate and copy the list, or download a timestamp list or podcast chapter JSON.

When this helps

Prepare a tutorial outline, a recorded lesson or a podcast chapter file. You choose the chapter titles and start times; the tool formats and checks them instead of inventing chapter content.

What to know before you start

YouTube timing checks require a 00:00 start, at least three chapters and at least 10 seconds per chapter. Enter duration to check the final chapter. Passing these checks does not guarantee platform eligibility. Podcast JSON compatibility depends on your host.

Frequently asked questions

Does it find chapters automatically?

No. Supply the times and titles you want. The tool checks ordering and formats the output.

Why enter the total duration?

Without it, the final chapter’s length cannot be checked. The tool clearly marks this check as incomplete.

Does downloading JSON publish chapters?

No. You download a local chapter file. Importing or hosting it depends on your podcast platform.
